Conductivity

Electrical conductivity (EC) indicates how well water conducts electric current. It is a direct measure of the concentration of dissolved mineral salts and ions. In hydroponics, the EC value shows whether the nutrient solution is correctly concentrated. In laboratories and water analysis, it is a standard parameter for assessing water quality.

For accurate results, conductivity meters should be calibrated regularly using a conductivity calibration solution (e.g. 1413 µS/cm).
