Water hardness

Water hardness indicates how much calcium and magnesium is dissolved in water and is expressed in degrees of German hardness (°dH) or in mg/L calcium carbonate. It is relevant for drinking water quality, aquariums, and protecting appliances and pipes from limescale buildup.

The harder the water, the more minerals it contains, which can affect soap consumption, taste, and the lifespan of household appliances.
