The 222 mV ORP calibration solution is used to test and calibrate ORP electrodes. To check the electrode’s function, immerse the electrode tip in the ORP standard solution. The measured mV value should not deviate by more than +/- 10 mV from the value indicated on the bottle (at the respective temperature).
If the measured value falls outside this range of +/- 10 mV, or if the measured value of your sample is not within the normal range, soak the electrode in this standard solution for 15 to 30 minutes to treat it. This prepares the electrode surface for ORP measurement and improves both the response time and the accuracy of the electrode.
