FAQ

What is ORP, or redox potential?

ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential), or redox potential, indicates how strongly a liquid acts as an oxidizing or reducing agent. Positive values indicate oxidizing conditions (e.g., well-disinfected water), while negative values indicate reducing conditions. It is measured in millivolts (mV).

In what unit and with what accuracy does the ORP60 measure?

The ORP60 measures in millivolts (mV) with a measurement range of -1000 to +1000 mV, a resolution of 1 mV, and an accuracy of ±0.2% of the full-scale value. In addition, temperature is measured from 0 to 50 °C with an accuracy of ±0.5 °C.

How do I calibrate the ORP60?

The ORP60 is calibrated at the touch of a button using a calibration solution (222 mV, included). Automatic buffer detection guides you through the process. Calibration takes only a few minutes.

Is the ORP60 suitable for use in an aquarium?

Yes, the ORP60 is ideal for aquariums. The redox potential allows you to reliably monitor water quality as well as the effectiveness of ozonizers or UV systems. For saltwater aquariums, ORP values between 300 and 400 mV are recommended. The device is IP67-certified, making it waterproof and buoyant.
